Life -A great school for learning known from eras to mankind; few find it philosophical but some live it and leave a mark of inspiration for the generation to come. Ethan Mascarenhas who describes his life like a dark room waiting for the first ray of light- but this first ray yet to come even after the prolonged wait of twelve years…Will Ethan find this guiding light or die within the darkness is what the story revolves around

Ethan Mascarenhas (Hrithik Roshan) once known as world’s best magician is now a Radio jockey for the “Radio Zindagi” operating from a roof leaked inheritant house on a wheel chair. Ethan while performing a magic trick ditched by his own best friend Yasser Siddique(Ash Chandler ) which pushed him the dark prison of quadriplegic. Ethan despite of losing hope started Radio Zindagi to spread the hope of positive life amongst the people especially who are like him- quadriplegic with the help of his beautiful care taker and nurse Sofia D'Souza (Aishwarya Rai) who cared him more than herself selflessly from the last twelve years. But the patience level has its limit Ethan finally files a petition for euthanasia (Mercy Killing) – a decision which shocked his advocate Devyani Dutta (Shernaz Patel);His doctor Dr.Nayak (Suhel Seth) and everyone to whom Ethan inspires through Radio Zindagi & His magic…

Thumps Up Thumps Down (TUTD™ ) Analysis
1) AcT SenSE
Hrithik and Aishwarya has come up with one of the finest performances along with the decent supporting cast including Aditya Roy Kapoor as Omar Siddique.
2) For the Director

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has come up with a complicated issue based movie which he has managed to handle beautifully. The subject of euthanasia is handled with sensitivity and care. There are great performances by everyone including supporting cast but on the same hand it’s the supporting cast only which scores down the Guzaarish. Reason? The answer is the screenplay. The characters in the movie come and disappear without any significance like Sophia’s husband; Ethan’s best friend Ethan’s ex-girl friend .Even if you remove the Omar Siddique from the script it doesn’t affect a single string of the story because director has not chosen the narration in the manner that it reflects that a cunning fox is moving around in the house to steal the secrets of magic by acting as a pet cat. Sanjay has dedicated his maximum energy on making the frames more poetic; artistic and eye appealing in which he secures 100% marks but he lost the right rhythm of the story. After Saawariya this movie too is like a theatrical play weighted highly on lavish sets than reality. Second whether Ethan is suffering from last 12 years or 14 years is always a question in ambiguity.

3) BeaT SenSE
The Music and Songs of the movie are class apart where SLB has taken the charge to compose the music himself and does a splendid job. Songs like “Sau Gram Zindagi” & “Guzaarish” are beautifully penned down by Vibhu Puri and A.M.Turaz respectively. Choreography especially for the song “Udi Udi” by Longinus Fernandes is charming & adorable. Aishwarya’s appearance is at her best like silver screen goddess with red roses and black gown.
4) ArT SenSE
The art work by Sumit Basu and the cinematography by Sudeep Chatterjee is worth mentioning.
Each frame is depicts to be a painting.

5) Golden Moments
There are few scenes worth mentioning like
a) Sophia’s wittier and seductive sound while massaging Ethan’s legs
b) Sophia’s facial expression during Court proceeding at Ethan’s Home when Devyani confirms the right of Sophia’s on Ethan’s life
c) The suffering of Ethan by the rain-drops attacking from the leaked roof of his house.
d) And the Climax thou looks humorous but the laugh of Ethan who has lived his best day in last twelve years with his friends, One day Wife and the Last day of his life makes you speechless.

Overall 109 minutes of Guzaarish is a celebration of life for all who believes life is a tough journey but it becomes easier with ones determination; friends n more important love with yourself….
