When Pre release communication and hype went wrong despite the big names; superb sets and Oscar winning Composer the dish served this Friday in theatres by Mani Ratnam to the Viewers is simply tasteless and without soul.

Plot

The Holy Epic RAMAYAN is shown in the contemporary style as RAAVAYAN thou the tragedies of Sita being a Woman remains same



Story

Ragini Sharma (Aishwarya Rai) the wife of inspector Dev Pratap Sharma (Vikram) is kidnapped by Beera Munda(Abhishek Bachhan) the tribal leader and Hero of Lal Maati -a small tribal town somewhere in India to serve his personal revenge. Therefore the Beera with h is two brothers Mangal (Ravi kishan) & Hariya (Ajay Gehi) and His tribal team moreover turned into naxalites and their mission is just One-To Trap the big fish in the town i.e. Inspector Dev Pratap.

Dev Pratap-the Modern RAM with his team started his Mission to Hunt Beera-Today’s Ravan and Escape Modern Sita i.e. Nalini from his trap. But the dense forest of Laal Mati is unknown; dense and confusing so comes the Sanjeevini Kumar(Govinda) – The Forest Guide and The Modern Hanuman. So here starts the Modern war between good and Evil but why the Beera wants to take revenge with Dev Pratap; Why Policeman are his central Hatred cause?? The Answers is the same as our original Epic... Jhamuniya (Priyamani)-The Modern Day SURPANAKHA

A.R.Rehman justifies his experience and fame and has given some memorable sound tracks.

Story and Screenplay

Weakest point of the movie; the first half is absolute boring and directionless; it’s the second half of the movie which makes you glue somehow to the screen due to its fast pace; music score and highly artistic sets. But overall Ramayan has got its worst treatment by an experienced Film Maker.




Cast and Performance

Abhishek –He Leads but too much of bak-bak bak bak.

Aishwarya - Simply has nothing to do than to shout and remain as glass doll

Ravi Kishan- One guy whose Performance actually speaks whenever he comes on screen

Govinda- The guy deserves more onscreen presence being Hanuman as his presence makes you smile

But his role seems to be scissored.

Vikram-Overall Ok...His branded Goggles speaks more than his performance

Direction

What a best director can do if the story itself is full of loopholes and the credit of this half baked story and screenplay also goes to Mani himself.

Cinematography and Art Work

The Best part of the Movie which saves its grace... No questions about this

In last

Mani’s Raavan despite everything has nothing..It Lacks the Soul.. Overall this Raavayan fails to impress.
