Aspiration makes Dreams and an aspiration for fulfilling the dreams makes them a reality. Badmaash Company by Yash Raj films is a story of Four friends where Dream of one becomes the dream of four because everyone felt to be benefitted by one Indispensable requirement of today’s youth above Honour i.e. MONEY.
PLOT
The story is set in 1990s during pre-liberalization Bombay where four students who are just passed out of colleges wanted to do something Big in Life. Honesty is something that doesn’t suits these highly aspired gang thus they came together and formed a Badmaash Company viz. Friends & co. Their Main Motive is to earn money by not paying Custom Duties on imported items. But Post liberalization their Badmaash company took a Twist and that’s how the story Moved further
Story
Karan(Shahid Kapoor) a smart; intelligent and talented guy did not aspire to be like his Father- A Simple Service Class Employee and wants to become No 1 in earning Money as quick as possible. The mastermind Karan along with his two friends Zing (Meiyang Chang) & Chandu(Vir Das) were offered a fully paid trip to Bangkok to become a Carrier by a local smuggler to get the things purchased and cargo to India fooling Customs. Bulbul (Anushka Kapoor) who accompanied them in same trip as a carrier become the fourth member of the Gang and later the heartbeat of Karan.
After trip Karan struck with one Idea to earn Fast money and decided to involved his other friends to come together to do some conning business in a right way :_) .Truly said one idea can change life and how “One Shoe” conversation can brought a 10lakh profit to a Badmaash Gang is something interesting to watch. After the first encounter Badmaash company gave leverage to their business till the pinnacle of success they wanted but success of company wasn’t the success of Karan and He wished to have More. The desire for more led to the breakup of the gang till Karan’s self realization and finally their Badmaash Gang rose out of ashes and reunion again to do Right things in a Right Way
Cast and Direction
Parmeet Sethi :As a First Time director deserves Kudos for BC as it doesn’t seems that that he is directing for the first time. The only drawback is loosely handled Post intermission part. But Luckily plot picked up at the desired time and a 2 hours and 24 minutes flick didn’t disappoint you anyway.
The chemistry of the gang is Yuva i.e. Fresh; Energetic and Confident; individually everyone is lacking somewhere but as a gang they have done an incredible job.
Anuska: After RNBJ came up with an entire new but a sexy & credible Avatar.
Shahid : He has proved himself again but lacking Kaminey’s Standard
Meiyang Chang & Vir Das : Both duo thou freshers but won’t disappoint you any way
In Last
Humor is into right proportion in the movie along with the good screenplay and fine performances thou second half if could have given some proper attention as its first half; it would have been one of the best movie of the year till date. Music is average keeping Pritam’s Track record thou song “Fakira” is picturised well. Overall a good badmaash movie to enjoy :_)
